Me and My Big Mouth

Yes, it's true, I am a major big mouth. Despite my best intentions, I tend to always say the wrong thing. See, I will not BS, I will say what I think, even if it is a truth people do not want to hear. I try to not say ANYTHING, but my own nature gets the better of me and there I go, running off at the mouth again. I am constantly being called onto the carpet and threatened with disciplinary action. *sigh* Luckily I am under contract and cannot be terminated for just being a sass mouth. But it does tend to put a crimp in my personality, trying to stifle myself all the time. Why just today, I called into question the validity of an administrator's edict, because it was not logical. When I tried to question the decision and caught the administrator in a falsity, the matter became even worse. Called onto the carpet again! The only cure would to win the lottery and then I could say whatever I wanted and damn the consequences. Nice dream, eh?

I Wish I Could

There are so many things I would like to rag about concerning my job, but I cannot. God forbid it get back to the boss. The organization I work for is notorious for retribution when it comes to individual employees that complain. I also learned the lesson the hard way once upon a time....

I was working for an educational institution and had the micro-managing boss from hell. Sadly, unbeknownst to the other employees, there was a snitch in the office. During this time, a good friend had a rad message board and several co-workers and I would post things there, just to vent and have fun. One day I posted a funny thought about how I was at a loss on how to kill my boss. The responses I got were sympathetic and comical. Now, I had no intention of killing my boss or anyone else. It was just a vent, but you know the new and infamous saying, ever since 9-11. Well, this little spy could not wait to RUN to the boss and let him see our postings. I was severely reprimanded and threatened with legal prosecution. Several rounds of 1st amendment rights versus Patriot Act comments flew back and forth before everyone realized how stupid the entire incident was. The postings were removed and life went on…but lesson learned!

So now, no matter how bad things get at work, and can I say that as far as the bosses go, it is pretty bad, I cannot be specific. It is annoying not to be able to say what I want. People that know me will understand how so not me it is to not say exactly what I think exactly when I want. So, I guess I will keep it in and try not to explode!
