Ain't it over yet?

So school ends in exactly 3 weeks and the kids and I are ready. They cannot shut up and I cannot get anything done. I think it may be due to all the pressure we put on them to do well on the stupid standardized tests. When the tests are over, they think that their job is done. What they do not realize yet, is that learning never ends. They are ready to go swimming, veg on the TV and just be kids....Well guess what kids? SO AM I!

Oh and BTW.....I am sick of all the pre-recorded political phone calls. When I get home and check the voice mail, I do not want to hear Martin Sheen asking me to vote for some stupid ballot measure. Prop 82 - No thanks! I do not want to pay for pre-school for rich peoples' kids. For the rest, there is the Head Start Program. Didn't Rob Reiner get in some poop over the way the 5 First Org was spending their money??? I believe that is the organization that sponsors that bill. Hmmmm.....

End of May

So, school is almost over and I think both the teachers and the students are ready to shout, "DONE!" Multicultural Day was great and was actually multicultural. Impressive.

I am so burnt out on the news and all the crap that is happening everywhere. Riots in Afghanistan, Marines killing civilians in Iraq, a useless federal government, that cannot enforce the laws we have, let alone try to make new ones, a president who is completely incompetent. I might need a vacation.....
